One week in and the ball is officially rolling!

Lots of people have agreed to get involved from all over the world, including some teacher friends who are hopefully going to get their English classes involved. The first few postcards have arrived and lots more are making their way via the postal system. The plan is to chart their arrivals using Instagram, so if you’d like to see how the project progresses – and to maybe see your own postcard featured and quoted – follow me! @thepostcardpoet

This week, I’ve also discovered that there is a huge global trend for ‘Postcrossing’ – the art of creating and exchanging beautifully crafted mail with strangers from other countries. As a closet craft nerd myself, this has been a pretty exciting revelation for me, and will hopefully make it much easier to spread the word of the project to new countries.

That’s all for now! If you haven’t got involved yet, please do make buying and writing a postcard a part of your Sunday, and check out the progress so far on Instagram. Thanks to everyone that has already put pen to paper.

ALL HAIL SNAIL MAIL!
